The New Raw is a design studio based in Rotterdam that specializes in exploring innovative solutions to environmental challenges. In their Second Nature project, they use 3D printing technology to create beautiful sculptures of seashells made from ocean waste. The project aims to raise awareness about the amount of plastic waste in our oceans and its impact on marine life. The shells are made from recycled plastic waste collected from the coastline of Greece, where the project was initially launched.

The New Raw uses a proprietary algorithm to create unique shell designs, mimicking real seashells’ natural patterns and textures. The 3D printing process allows the shells to be produced with minimal waste and high precision while providing a cost-effective way to create beautiful and functional objects. By transforming plastic waste into art, The New Raw hopes to inspire people to rethink their relationship with waste and to consider new ways of reducing, reusing, and recycling materials.
