3D printer for ultra-high resolution
Micro Arch S230 is used for ceramic´s ultra-high-resolution print. It can handle near about 20,000cP. 3D printers with high-resolution capabilities are,
Formlabs Form 3: Form 3 is a stereolithography (SLA) printer that uses a laser to cure resin layer by layer. It has a layer height resolution of 25 microns, one of the highest available in the SLA category.
Ultimaker S5: The Ultimaker S5 is a fused filament fabrication (FFF) printer with a dual extruder system for greater precision. It has a layer height resolution of up to 20 microns, one of the highest available in the FFF category.
Zortrax M300 Plus: The Zortrax M300 Plus is another FFF printer with a layer height resolution of up to 90 microns. While this is not as high as the other printers on this list, it is still considered a high-resolution option for FFF printing.
In general, the resolution of your prints will also depend on the quality of the design files you are using and the type and quality of the materials you are printing with.
According to Toby Schaedler, Manager, Architected Materials and Structures Department at HRL Laboratories, “As a current BMF customer, we’ve been thrilled with the performance of our microArch S130 to support our work in micro-printing ceramics – providing the resolution, accuracy and precision necessary for our parts. As the first customer of the new microArch S230, the next generation 2µm system, we are excited to utilize the enhancements of the platform to increase our part capacity with the larger build volume and speed up our printing times. We are looking forward to continuing to work with the BMF team and their line of micro-precision 3D printers to support our micro part needs.¨
